FIVE MINUTES for Earth

Five Minutes for Earth is more than just a unique fundraising model.
It’s a worthy artistic endeavor in its own right.

– THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER

The FIVE MINUTES for Earth® project provides for sponsored donations to worthy environmental organizations with every verified performance of works in the FIVE MINUTES for Earth collection - by any artist, anywhere in the world.

Phase One of the project was launched by Yolanda Kondonassis in 2020, when she asked some of today’s most innovative compositional voices to create new works for solo harp of approximately five minutes in length that express a powerful experience inspired by Earth in one of its many conditions or atmospheres. FIVE MINUTES for Earth is also a metaphor for the urgent and compressed timeframe that remains to find and implement solutions to the global environmental crisis. Phase Two will comprise compositions for all instruments.

FIVE MINUTES for Earth is based upon an artistic “pay-it-forward” concept, where creators and performers are able to give in the form of their artistic contribution, inspire audiences around the world with earth-themed works, and have that programming result in a monetary contribution to environmental causes through the sponsorship of Earth at Heart.

As diverse as the planet’s ecosystems . . . a beautifully engineered contemporary harp collection that offers something for every musical taste
